C-60 Lockheed Loadstar The Old Dominion Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force(CAF) is a privately funded, totally self-supporting, non-profit, tax-exempt, all volunteer educational organization based at the John Beverly Rose Airport (FKN) in Franklin, VA. The Squadron was chartered by the CAF in 1986, and remains affiliated with the CAF which is also a non-profit organization, with its headquarters in Midland, TX. Our mission is:

- To Preserve, in flying condition, a complete collection of examples of combat aircraft flown by all branches of the United States Military services from World War I to the modern day, as a tribute to the thousands of men and women who built, serviced and flew them.

- To acquire or construct museum buildings for the permanent protection and display of theses aircraft.

- To perpetuate in the memory and in the hearts of all Americans the spirit in which these aircraft were flown in the defense of our Nation.

- To establish an organization having the dedication, enthusiasm, and esprit de corps necessary to operate, maintain, and preserve these aircraft as symbols of our American military aviation heritage.

By maintaining airworthy vintage aircraft in their original configuration, the Old Dominion Squadron preserves a tangible connection with this critical time in our Nation's history. As historical artifacts, these rare and beautiful warbirds are unsurpassed in the ability to educate and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds concerning the key role aviation has performed in the conduct of Allied operations during conflict and peacetime.

There are currently several projects that require assistance to be offered to the Old Dominion Squadron to help us carry out our mission. Donations are urgently needed to achieve the following:

-Various display cases and other items for inside Our Museum ($50,000)
- Complete the restoration of our Stinson OY-1/L-5 ($5,000)
- Purchase a spare engine for our Stinson OY-1/L-5 ($25,000)
- Purchase a spare engine for our Ryan PT-22 ($20,000)

The Old Dominion Squadron, being a non-profit organization, is exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations and contributions are tax deductible under section 170 of that code. Your financial assistance is earnestly requested in order to continue our mission and accomplish our goals as outlined above.
